About CMS International

In 1966, four Mexican business executives with a broad knowledge of the LPG market acquired Continental Manufacturing Steel International, which was renamed CMS International. It expanded its production and began manufacturing globe valves and distributing gas equipment like pumps, meters, and other related devises.

Its first assembly facility was shared with Rockwell Mexicana, which was at that time manufacturing meters and regulators for the LPG industry.

CMS International eventually acquired from Rockwell Mexicana the licenses to manufacture meters and regulators under the official certification of Norma Oficial Mexicana (NOM), the Official Mexican Standard, to complement their LPG product line.

In 1971, CMS International continued to expand and moved into a new production facility plant that was located in the Naucalpan Industrial Park. This expansion greatly improved the quality of their product line with new machinery and enhanced processes.

Then in 1974, CMS International acquired a new production facility in the State of Mexico, which is located 15 minutes away from Mexico City and where they remain today.

CMS International continued to improve their product line, obtaining their first international certification for their globe valves under the standard UL 125 and regulators under the standard UL 144 in 1986.

In October 1987, CMS International acquired an aluminum foundry named Taller y Metales with the objetive of manufacturing the bodies of its own regulators, increasing their quality and efficiency, achieving its first exports of regulators.

During the 1980s, CMS International maintained consistent growth, incorporating new offering to their production line servicing the LPG market.

CMS International has been the leading manufacturer of LPG products in Mexican market for the past 54 years and can confidently state that in the vast majority of storage plants, bobtails, and transports, as well as in domestic tank installations, there are CMS products installed.

In June 2015, CMS obtained the ISO9001:2008 certification for their manufacturing facility and in 2018 we recertified for ISO9001:2015.
